Powell's CofE Primary School

Powell's School in Cirencester, England is an Aided Church School, with a long and proud tradition. Its roots go back to 1714 in the funding of the Blue School for boys, followed in 1722 by the Yellow School for Girls. The amalgamation of the two in 1876 saw the foundation of Powell's School.

purpleplanet designed and built a site for the school in 2004, with a re-build and new design a few years later. It was decided that now was a good time to refresh the look and feel of the website and give the admin staff at Powell's more responsibility for the upkeep of their own internet presence. Joomla is the perfect choice for such a website.

The new Powell's School website is fresh and clear, and incorporates the school's traditional colours of blue and yellow. The update to the latest version of Joomla! has also given us the opportunity to not only improve on security and usability, but also to build on existing features, such as an Events Diary, Latest News section and a Contact Form as well as improving the Newsletter archiving.
