A study into the motorsport industry in Franklin, New Zealand initiated by Enterprise Franklin Development Trust indicated that establishing a Motorsport Industry Cluster centred in Franklin would have a major impact on the export potential of Franklin District, the Auckland Region and the New Zealand motorsport industry overall. purpleplanet were approached by our friends from the Enterprise Franklin Development Trust to design a brand new web presence for MotorplexNZ, based purely on a logo, which they provided. |
The brief was to create something dynamic, fresh and with a motorsport feel, without losing the focus that the site is a business-based enterprise. The obvious choice was the chequered flag, from which we have used the primary colours of black and white. |  | | "purpleplanet have designed the MotorplexNZ site from scratch - all I gave them was a brief of the proposed content and what we didn't want and they went for it. In our principal developer, Matt Atherton, it was great to find a techie who also has a grasp of good design concepts, as this completely eliminated the need to employ a designer in the process.
