purpleplanet – Software Solutions is looking to take on an OSX/Mobile App Junior Developer. This is not a full-time position. You will be working on a project basis, with a price agreed before each project commences.
We are preferably seeking someone who is still learning the ropes. We have a large, non-time critical project, which will allow you to significantly increase your development skills on a real project.
Don’t apply if you’re a company or third-party agency. We are looking for a junior with some basic experience, who needs an opportunity to develop their skills in an expanding role.
You should be able to work from home, to an agreed schedule, under your own supervision and be prepared to “check in” on a regular basis with updates.
Please contact us directly if interested. Be prepared to show your portfolio!

You may have a wonderful (perhaps even fairly new) website, but is it as up to date as it can be?
Many web developers have their tried and tested ways of building a website. They’ll open up Photoshop, or similar, create a 960 pixel-wide canvas and throw everything at it, until they and their customer are happy with the look. So, how about mobile? Do you know what your website looks like on an iPhone, iPad, Android or Windows Mobile? Read More

On July 5th 2011, Jailbreakme.com 3.0 was released. Version 3.0 brings support for iOS Devices running 4.3.3 including the iPad2, for which this is the first public jailbreak.
You can head over to http://jailbreakme.com/ on your iPod Touch/iPhone/iPad, which is running 4.3.3, and slide your finger over “Slide to Jailbreak”.
As always, it’s a good idea to back-up your device before jail-breaking.

The iPhone uses a lot of power. Whether the battery is too small or we just feel compelled to play with it more than with other devices doesn’t matter. What matters is that half way through the day, you can find yourself with a dead phone. Tjeerd Veenhoven decided to do something about it and, instead of just, you know, plugging the thing in, he made the iFan. Read More
