2012 saw some exciting developments: Mobile browsing contributes to over 10% of online traffic (ref: NetMarketShare) consolidating the need for Responsive Design, which tailors the user’s web experience depending on the device they are using. Footers are fatter, and it’s OK to scroll.
Long pages are en vogue and easy to read on mobile devices. The old adage “a picture paints a thousand words” is never going to burn out, and infographics have enjoyed a starring role. HTML5 and CSS3 have caused a buzz with interactive web pages and responsive frameworks.

You may have a wonderful (perhaps even fairly new) website, but is it as up to date as it can be?
Many web developers have their tried and tested ways of building a website. They’ll open up Photoshop, or similar, create a 960 pixel-wide canvas and throw everything at it, until they and their customer are happy with the look. This then gets cut up and a template or HTML site is created and checked in the latest versions of Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari and so on.
