Apple is perfectly aware of the fact that their biggest advantage is to provide content matching their hardware platform.
Without music companies the iPod wouldn’t have had such a big success.
Without application developers, the iPad would not have had such a big presence on the market. This is also valid for 3D devices.
Without 3D content, 3D devices do not stand a chance. This is one of the main reasons why 3D TV’s do not manage to attract a lot of customers.
Most likely, the 3D display of the iPad 3 will not need special glasses. At least this is what we are hoping for, because otherwise, users might remain faithful to the traditional 2D display.
